Turmeric Powder: Health Benefits

Considering the potential health benefits, turmeric, also known as turmeric, tumor or turmeric, is a spice that has been upgraded to a superfood.

This slightly spicy root is similar to ginger, but is orange in color and is one of the main ingredients of curry. It is widely used as a condiment in India. According to observations, the incidence of cancer is much lower than in other parts of the world. Therefore, it is believed that this low incidence may be related to the high consumption of curry powder, especially through the consumption of turmeric.

Its orange-yellow color is the color of curry (spice mixture) and is caused by the presence of curcumin pigment. It is this pigment that has a strong antioxidant effect. Turmeric brings some benefits to its health, and through its activity to reduce inflammation and control oxidative stress, it seems to enhance health protection against many chronic diseases. From tumor (cancer) dyslipidemia, diabetes, atherosclerosis, neurodegenerative diseases, allergies, inflammation and autoimmune diseases. It should be pointed out that curcumin is not well absorbed by the human body, so it is recommended to mix it with black pepper for better absorption.

The outstanding advantages of turmeric (curcumin) include:
*Depression: Curcumin seems to have the potential to help treat this disease and help the effects of antidepressants;
*Type 2 diabetes: It helps prevent and control the disease in two ways: on the one hand, it helps control blood sugar levels (blood sugar); on the other hand, it has anti-inflammatory effects.
*Viral infections: Turmeric can be used to treat herpes or flu, which are two infections caused by viruses;
*Premenstrual syndrome: Consumption of turmeric can reduce the severity of the syndrome, especially in terms of colic;
*High cholesterol: In addition to protecting blood vessels from oxidation, its anti-inflammatory potential can also help reduce LDL cholesterol ("bad" cholesterol) levels;
*Alzheimer's disease: Chronic inflammation is a characteristic of patients with this disease, and turmeric prevents the disease through its anti-inflammatory activity;
*Arthritis: Joint pain, swelling and inflammation are characteristic of arthritis. Turmeric seems to help control these symptoms;
*Cancer: In animal and laboratory studies, curcumin has been shown to inhibit the growth of certain tumors. Since human studies have not been conducted, it is not yet possible to draw conclusions about its efficacy and warn that curcumin may interact with certain chemotherapy.
*Irritable bowel syndrome: In some people, it seems to help control the acute attack of the syndrome, especially to reduce the symptoms of abdominal cramps;
* Migraine: Turmeric, like its "cousin" ginger, seems to be a preventive or auxiliary means for migraine.
